Hello Everybody,
Posting this here because I am going crazy now.
I have a Samsung Q60R 4K Smart TV QN49Q60RAF TV
It just auto updated last night and now audio comes out of the Netflix app all distorted.
I have a Denon AVR-791 receiver plugged into the ARC (HDMI 4) port to get audio out of home speaker system.
The audio has worked fine for months on end with every single app.
The audio STILL works with Crave, itunes, all other apps.
Usually in apps I can switch between Dolby Digital and PCM on the "Digital Output Audio Format button"
(Pictured below)
However when I switch over to Netflix it tries to automically switch to Dobly Digtital Plus on the speakers, which the speakers CANT do and it comes out as gibberish nonsense audio, AND Samsung wont let be choose the mode on the "Digital Output Audio Format button", disabling the button. Netflix OVERIDES the speakers to do this.
I just need to change the "Digital Output Audio Format button" to Digtial Dobly Regular for it to work, not the plus.
This happened a about 4 months back as well but I could changed the "Digital Output Audio Format button" when Netflix started overiding it, since the auto update last night, I no longer can.
I have already
1. reset the smarthub
2. changed the audio on the netflix app to normal sound instead of surround.
I have attached some picture of the receiver system as well, in case I need to change something in there.
I have phoned Samsung and they were stumped, again ALL other apps work, its just netflix.
CAN ANYONE HELP ME ITS TAKEN ME HOURS

Nope, luckily I still have a Firestick. No problems with it on Netflix app. Fingers crossed for fix!

Thank you for articulating my issue so well! I worked this for the better part of a day and came up stumped as to why Netflix was my only app with this issue. I did not realize DD+ was being auto selected by Netflix as my other apps autosect DD and all is well with my Denon receiver.
In the meantime I will use Netflix from Apple TV but this is cumbersome from a user interface as I know have an extra remote and education to deliver.
Samsung, my goal is to use you TV as the central hub for all my apps and devices for all 4 new Samsung TVs I installed in January. This allows a common interface for my wife and kids, simple and consistant.
Please fix so I get my happy wife back!
Thank you in advance!
Jim

I still did not resolved the sound issue with netflix and my pioneer receiver
I do sell television has a living, Unfortunitly, I was off work for 8months. What I will do is, When store will open again, I will contact my samsung Sale reprensentative and report this issue to him. Usually, it will take 2-3 weeks fixing the issue on their end.
I have done that into the past with Hisense and Lg. They usually take care of the situation quickly
I will keep this post updated

Hello, I managed to get netflix to work with my Marantz amplifier. By going to sound settings then expert, then audio output format in PCM instead of auto and magic it works!

Not sure if it might help anyone, but I did this and it got fixed in my samsung tv,
All settings> Sound > expert settings
Digital output audio format = PCM
Cheers
