Another IPlayer post

I'm posting this a new topic as I think I have narrowed down the problem but still can't fix it. My TV model is UE48J6300AKXXU (word to the wise, stay clear of this TV) and for a while the IPlayer has just thrown up 02001 "we're having trouble loading the video" error messages. After 2 weeks of trying various solutions posted by Samsung and users here - resetting the TV by powering off, waiting for the Smart Hub to update, updating the software, updating the apps, turning all the auto-updates on, factory reset etc. - I've noticed that the most recent firmware update listed on the Samsung site is 1550 and mine is stuck on 1530, despite the fact that when I select 'update now' it states there are no new updates.

So I've tried to do it manully via USB, and followed all the steps (and some suggested by other users) - reset my USB drive to FAT32, extracted the update, made sure the .exe file was removed, made sure there was nothing else on the drive, tried a different USB stick, tried all the ports. But there is never an option to update "By USB" as instructed. I can select update now in which it says "Update software by downloading files"  and Auto update on/off.

So does anyone know why my TV cannot find the new firmware online and why there is no option for me to do it myself via USB?

Hey @asfound! Can you follow the steps on this link to update the TV via USB? Are you able to update it successfully?

I've tried that multiple times, following the instructions exactly. It does not work. When I select update it does not acknowledge my USB stick with the correct update file on it and just says there are no updates available.

So I cannot update via wi-fi (why is this by the way?) and I cannot update by USB. So I'm stuck on an old 1530 version of the firmware which does not allow me to use the iplayer. Nothing but problems with this dumb TV.

Can you give our Team a call on 0333 000 0333? We may be able to send out a USB with the latest firmware on.

I have 2 different USBs and a hard drive (which work perfectly well with all my other devices) I've tried installing the latest firmware with - I don't see what sending me another one will achieve when my TV does not detect the file or the USB when I try and update it no matter how many times I try. Why can the 1550 version firmware not just be installed via wi-fi like every other update?

Nope, calling the number I was just given the standard "do a reset, turn it off at the mains" nonsense and hung up. Nothing seems to work unfortunately.

Interesting how, after almost 4 years this problem is still going on. Full television reset and I still cannot install update 1550. The TV apps don't work and say I have to update but the update cannot be done.
