My local dealer is offering a decent price on a 55Q6F Special Edition. I know that the 2017 model was the Q6F and the 2018 is Q6FN. So what is the Special Edition? My mate laughed that it was the 2017 model in a fancy box with ‘Special Edition’ written on it. Is there a spec change from the 2017 model? Or, is it a way to sell off last years production surplus?

Hi the 2017 is qled and the 2018 is not qled. It is the q7fn which is the first 2018 qled model.
That has confused me. The box has QLED on it etc, but the 2017 manual from the Samsung site is not for this TV as it shows the discrete inputs on the back. The dealer TV uses a remote hub and matches the 2018 Q6F manual.

Check the Samsung specs on the 2018 q6fn. The 2017 is the q6f, without the n.
So, this is what I have found over a coffee. The box says QLED Q6F Special Edition. The TV is the 2018 Q6FN model, the key differences are there such as the input hub. Therefore, will treat as Q6FN. Makes price even better
