Watching TV last night, noticed first that the screen was strange - creating a double-layer of image. Shortly after, it went dark and then showed colour strips. At this point, we noticed that the bottom corner (by the standby corner our right-hand corner, its left-hand corner) looked as though it was burning. The screen went black at this point and when we looked in the corner, it had melted the corner and plastic fitting and was dangerously hot. Turned everything off and unplugged. Today screen only shows vertical lines (see pics). Had we not been in the room when this happened, it could easily have caused a terrible house fire with serious injuries. Terrifying to think of.
