A suttle glow around the front facing camera as notification when the always on display is off as an option wouldn't be a bad idea. Possibly suggested already.

Yup, it has already been suggested 

The main concerns about this are either a possible burn-in problem or an increased battery drain.

So our development team has said that they are already working on some kind of solution that would cover that
