Message app

The message app needs a whole new revamp. Internet based message app would be perfect. So when you send to another android phone it's free

The stock messaging app is awful, and lags way behind  the competition . It's one aspect  they seem to not only ignore, but actively strip features from. It's like they dont want us to use sms, removing features with each iteration.

This option is already possible! :winking-face:

Go to Messages > More options > Settings > Chat settings > Advanced Calling & Messaging.

Nothing like that in my standard message app. I have the Google message app and that has that just not stock one

@TomaszT Is that in the Samsung messages app? I don't have that option.

Some clarification needed I think - is that enabling "RCS"? 

Is it possibly an option that only appears of the carrier supports RCS?

 

Google's stock messages app uses RCS but if the carrier doesn't support it, it enables it via their own servers instead.
