Force Dark Mode on selected apps

It's great that with OneUI 2 we can now give all apps a taste of dark mode, with the Force Dark Mode in developer options. But this covers every single app and some apps that have native dark support, such as Telegram X, get modified too which breaks the look of the app. If we can instead select which apps to force it on?

My force dark mode doesn't work...it doesn't change the apps and turns itself off after each reboot
