When finished recording a workout, Strava sync can sometimes take hours

I have my Samsung health app (on the phone) set to sync with Strava. So whenever i record a workout (Cycling, running, walking etc), when the workout is completed, Samsung Health is meant to sync the data with strava.

I have a regular problem where the sync can sometimes take 12 hours approx.

This is an inconvenience because i like to finish my workout then look at the activity straight after in Strava.

I have tried these steps in order to 'force' a Strava sync but it doesn't work:
- Clearing the app's cache
- Force stopping the app and re opening
- Uninstalling the Samsung health updates and reinstalling them / re set the app back up.

I have also recently done a factory reset of the phone in order to fix another issue i was having...the issue survived that.

I am using a gear sport SM-R600NZKABTU

The phone I am using it with is a galaxy S8 plus SM-G955F.

The watch software version is:

Tizen 3.0.0.2

R600XXU1ARC4

Phone software version:

Android 8.0.0

Baseband: G955FXXU1CRD1

Gear app 2.2.20.17113061

Gear plugin 2.2.03.18041051

The gear manager, Samsung health and the watch are all up to date.

My friend has the same issue using a gear s3 with a note 7.

Currently, in order to sync straight away i am resorting to manually exporting the GPX file to the strava website.

This issue is intermittant.

The Strava app can be also downloaded on the gear s3, great news, but I still prefer Endomondo, has more functionalities...

Hi @Ricky2.

Apologies for the delay. We've sent this off to our developers for them to have a look at. As soon as we receive a response, we'll be back in touch.

Any response yet?

Anything on this? I have to wait until the next morning to get my swim Training synced to strava. This is really Not okay. It worked flawlessly in the "old" shealth app last year.

I would use the strava App, but I think it doesn't support swimming yet.

Shealth was the only app that counted my laps correctly (speedo on didn't and also endomondo didn't)

Thanks!

Galaxy store, under 'watches' .. search for strava, install the app... specifically for the gear fit pro...   works for running, cycling, GPS, and indoor, immediately syncs... and nordic ski?!?  indeed, swimming not included for some reason.. I don't need anyway... . Set your samsung health to take strava data feed, and it will eventually populate your samsung app from strava...

Exactly. But that is what I need, as I pointed out above.

On my bike I use my bike computer from Igpsport, which synces nicely to strava. But for swimming I want to use the inbuilt App on my gear fit 2 pro.

That isn't possible it would seem.       Perhaps it will in future.

Not sure if it's something I've set wrong but I cannot get it to pick up a GPS signal. It's worked once when I had it running in the background behind shealth exercise app but it mostly just records time like a stop watch then tells me my workout was too short to record. Gutting after a 14 mile run.

It's does not work. My cycling in Samsung health data does not sync with strava after 24 hours and it's terrible. I'm planning to buy a galaxy watch 46mm and now I'm not so sure anymore. Using Galaxy S10+ here...
