S8 oreo battery drain

My S8 since OREO consumes battery in idle . Did factory reset and cache wipe.  It seems the modem/signal software has a serious bug. In airplane mode , without touching it during the night , battery dropped 20% !!! Did the same without airplane but with removed sim card and dropped 2% during the night which is normal (as it was in nougat) . The most ridiculous thing is that I got already the second oreo update (crc7) and its not fixed. This probably means that samsung didnt notice the bug .

Wipe doesn t help . I also did 2 wipes . We need update as soon as possible . But we have to make sure that Samsung acknowledged this issue because we already received the crc7 update but it's still like the first Oreo.

Hi Guys.

I'm using a s8 with Oreo and haven't had to perform a factory reset and my phone's battery output us pretty much as good as Nougat.

Now I appreciate battery life is a subjective matter as we all have our phones set up individually with various preferences and apps and gave different signal strengths.

Network supplied phones have their bloatware apps that can suck the battery too.

However I found disabling Facebook and Messenger and then installing the lite versions helped immensely.

I hope you find your solutions.

You probably get the same usage because you measure only screen on time . You can full charge your phone and close aod and do not touch it for all day . It will last 27-30 hours which is awful for not touching it . Also there is a possibility you are running a different firmware modem in your region and not affected by this bug . What's the versions you see after dialing  *#1234*#

The same issue gere. Over 20% less baterrylife than before update... FIX it soon please, or give possibility to downgrade to nougat...

thanks

Downgrade is not a solution even if it's officially given . For someone who uses his phone too much it's not an issue because endurance (sot) is not affected . For example if in nougat you got 15 hours mixed use with 5-6 hours sot you will probably get the same from oreo. But for people like me , light using during the day (due to work) it affects the standby too much . It's not only in airplane it's anytime using 4g but in airplane is awful because it's supposed to consume minimal amounts . Let's hope next update will fix it.

I see you have the first Oreo update . I have the latest version crc7 (OXM like the one you have) but this problem was from the first Oreo. I hate the fact that we are having this serious issue about 2 months now and we do not know if Samsung is working on this.  I say that because when I saw the crc7 version I thought it's fixed but didn't happen . What if the next version didn't fix it?? How long should we wait to have our phones working properly ?

+++ to the topic.

I had my phone working for 17 hours in Optimized mode + gear s3 + Wifi.
Now I have 9 hours at most.

Samsung, I keep tracking the draining battery issue and whole world is complaining about it

Should you react on this, since you are letting down loyal customers.

They will never trust you anymore, since many consumers (and I'm one of them) suggest that this battery killing spree was more related to bull*****ing marketing, than to any technical issue. You just want us all to buy s9 instead of quickly duying s8.

So hear me carefully. I will better smash my phone by the wall, than become a disciple of this idea.
