Pin code not working on galaxy S8

Suddenly today my pin isnt being accepted. Keeps saying incorrect pin. Tried changing it in settings but it asks for my pin which is then saying is incorrect! Any advice please? Am too worried about restarting etc etc as if it doesnt work I'm locked out and need phone for work. At moment am able to use fingerprint unlock but every now and again will ask for a pin number! Thanks

Power + Volumn Down (-) won't delete anything, will just force a restart.

No it will not. It is something like pressing power button in laptop or desktop to hard reboot.

You can give a try to get rid of this irritating issue.

Same issue with the pincode here. Will this hard reset wipe my data & clear my phone? Do i need to make a backup first? I cant even get into my phone at all anymore!

Hi @Nienjul. A hard reset will delete the data from your phone. We recommend you backup the data first, and then do a hard reset.
