Microphone in AKG headphone not working

I don't kkow if there is something wrong with my akg headphones, but the microphone is not working while talkng to someone on call by using akg earphones which cones in box with s8.

The volume button of the earphones is also not working.

Can I ask if you have tried any 3rd party earphones as a process of elimination to rule out the earphone set supplied by Samsung or if it's the phones jack port. 

 

Check no debris / dust is in the jack port and ensure the jack of the earphones is firmly fully pushed into the phone. 

 

If other earphones work then the set supplied need looking at. Samsung apply a 12 month manufacturing warranty. This wouldn't typically cover accidental damage. 

 

If no earphones work in the phone and the jack port is clean and you've never got it wet then the phone needs to be looked at under the 24 Month Manufacturing Warranty. A samsung experience Store or Samsung Experience Store can run a diagnostic on the device.

I am Having the same issue.. this is Disappointing.. Biggest Samsung supporter there is.. U pay $1000 for a brand u stand by. And then they stick u wit these finicky headphones that don't match the quality of the phone.. and then they make u jump through hoops to replace something that should have never had an issue I  the 1st place.

Like I said ..They make u jump through hoops to replace something that should've never had an issue in the 1st place.. so then u go 2-4wks w/o your headsets.. and it's there fault .. SMH.. THERE SHOULD BE AN EASIER PROCESS HONESTLY!! I AM AFFECTED..

Same thing happening to be too and I have only had my s9 for 15 days.

We'd recommend trying an alternative pair of earphones with your phone, as this would help us to establish whether the issue is. If another pair works as normal, then it would indicate that your earphones are faulty. In this case, we'd recommend going back to your retailer as you have had your S9 for only 15 days. If you find that you are not eligible for a return/exchange, we'll be more than happy to supply you with a new pair. Let us know how you get on!

I too hav a same issue.

I purchased s9+ last month, nd akg headphone in it is not working during calls. i can hear music, all buttons are active

Can you all please suggest, what should i do?

Have tried the AKG headphone in a Sony androind phone and of course worked great.

I have tried also to send a voice message through whatsapp with the AKG headphone and that worked nicely.

The problem is with the phone app So I dont think that your headphone is defective.

 

HERE IS THE SOLUTION:

 

You have to clear the CACHE of the phone app. on my samsung galaxy s9 plus I could see 3 phone apps. I have cleared the storage/CACHE of all of them.

Now the voice in phone calls works as expected.

I just had the same issue fixed with these steps:

1. Restart Note 8 Phone.

2. Connect phone on laptop using it's USB connector.

3. Plug-in AKG Samsung Headset. (Phone automatically played music as it recognized the headset attached.)

4. Tested headset button, worked fine. (Before Music Player wasn't responding to the buttons)

5. Tested micrphone using Voice Recorder.(Confirmed microphone is now working perfectly.)
