Lost pictures s7

Hi all, I backed up my s7 and then took the SIM out and reset it. I then decided to continue to use the s7 so put the SIM back in and set it up but my pictures seemed to be gone. They are not in Google pictures either, please help....

Where and how did you do the backup ? Perhaps in your samsung account ?

Thank you for replying.

I went to 'setting then 'cloud and accounts' then  'backup and restore'. 

I'm currently signed into my Samsung account on my phone so surely they would auto go to gallery? 

Sorry not very good at all this, really hoping the pictures are hiding somewhere. X
