Has anyone in the UK received the J5 software update to Pie which was scheduled for October? My phone is sim free but on the EE network and I am still waiting for the update.

Did you buy the phone direct from Samsung or from somewhere else i.e Carphone Warehouse or from an online site such as Amazon etc @DJT
Or was it imported from another country ?
You can check it's active CSC code via the phoneinfo app in the Playstore.
The CSC code is important as it can help to explain where the update will come from.
Sometimes using Smartswitch can help too.
Daily Driver > Samsung Galaxy s²⁴ Ultra 512Gb ~ Titanium Black.
The advice I offer is my own and does not represent Samsung’s position.

I bought the phone from Argos last year. It has since had the Oreo update and a security patch in June.
I have tried smartswitch and it is showing the software as being up to date.
I downloaded the app you suggested but it is not showing any csc code.

Thats weird as it should show a CsC code @DJT

Found it by entering *#1234# on the keypad.
It's BTU which appears to be UK (unbranded).

Yes BTU is typically a phone supplied directly by Samsung.

Having carried out some research at https://www.theandroidsoul.com/android-pie-release-date/ it seems that the phone is not eligble for the update despite Samsung earlier indicating that it would be upgraded to Pie in October.
Happy with Oreo anyway so not a problem!
Thanks for your helpful replies.
