News that Three have intoduced a 5G Home broadband Service , without the need for a landline or Fibre optic cables, however initially only available in parts of the London area. Their 4G service though more widely available. http://www.three.co.uk/store/broadband/home-broadband Their rivals though are complaining about misleading advertising, though it is true that they control a larger share of the spectrum. https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2019/aug/19/5g-battle-hots-up-as-ee-lodges-complaint-over-thr...
However initial Beta trials before launch were not impressive for everyone https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-49394678

Huawei now to be banned from 5G Networks, operators will not be able to buy any new equipment from January, all existing equipment will need to be removed from the 5G Networks by 2027. This was on the cards with concerns raised in some quarters and could say heightened after Us pressure and the New Hong Kong security law. However in any event it will slow down the rollout and according to some sources could cause security risks of its own. Will have a big impact on BT, though Nokia and Ericsson may well benefit. Will not affect 4G though.
