Fingerprint not working

my phone will not open with fingerprint and i can not remember passcode to reset it any help please

What phone do you have? Have you tried unlocking this using Find My Mobile?

Will I have to lose all my data etc,

You won't lose any data doing this, @colinlr. 

The only way you will lose data is through a Factory Reset.
