Had the in-camera app "Surround Shot" on my s6. It was very clever, simple and one of those show-off features that have convinced friends to move from iPhone to Samsung. How can you just remove a feature like that? If it's because you want people to buy your 360 camera you haven't thought it through... Samsung gear is an expensive niche product that you can't compare with a free simple app. Bring the app back and convince us once again that you can listen to your loyal customers.

+1. I have Samsung 360 camera, but c'mon, I won't take it with me unless I'll be 100% sure I'll need it today.

Horizontal panorama != surround shot. Actually it's even possible to install surround shot app from the Galaxy Store on the Android Pie device. It just doesn't show up in the camera menu.

It seems that samsung have withdrawn a popular feature (surround shot), and then pointing people to the play store to buy a 360 equivalent, how pathetic can a company be, not satisfied with the profit from an already expensive phone, they want more from the customer, I shall move away from samsung if this trend continues, I'd rather switch than be fleeced of money through loyalty

Just found out that Google Street View app allowes you to take 360 shots like G Camera does, but without any 3rd party modded apks. Works like a charm on S10.
Tbf I still prefer Samsung Surround Shot to G Camera quality-wise, and Street View has some really weird interface, but it's already better than nothing.

I'm afraid I'm with you on this. I upgraded to the S10+ from an S6 and the fact that these phones are so expensive and have subpar cameras and camera features is unacceptable. Unimpressed with their "new exciting" camera features. A panoramic shot is not the same as a 360 degree "surround shot," an option available on the S6 camera distributed by Samsung. What a slap in the face.
