WhatsApp I assume will be updating their apps software and once that's happened both Apple iOS and Android will push it out to the phones.
You can check manually by going into your Playstore and my apps and see if an update is pending.
If not then periodically check and or let the phone let you know when an update is ready which is done automatically.
