Figured we should have a thread like this.

Hi all! I'm AntS. :smiling-face-with-sunglasses:

I've worked for Samsung since 2014: starting on t'phone in the frontline Mobile/Tablets Tech Support team, moving on to the Online Shop Support team, then to the Social Media team, where I spent most of my time...  and which is how I ended up here.

My hobbies include reading (I might be a bit of a bibliophile), writing, drawing/design, the odd bit of rambling with my Dad, and despairing at the state of modern football (apart from at Lionel Messi - whom I might have a little mancrush on...)

I'm a Fantasy, sci-fi, comic book, and Saturday-morning cartoon geek. Love stuff like Lord of The Rings, Game of Thrones, Star Wars, Blade Runner, Doctor Who, Star Trek, Supernatural, Babylon 5. Big fan of Transformers - the original '80s Generation 1 stuff rather than Bayformers.

Hi,

I am Dolf from The Netherlands.

My first phone was a Samsung Galaxy S2 (For months I doubted between Galaxy S and HTC Desire, until S2 came out). My second phone was Galaxy Note4.

My third phone is a Note9.

As a former software engineer, I am very picky about all sorts of issues concerning quality, performance and usability. Also, my Asperger Syndrome helps a lot :smiling-face:.

I have quite some experience with other brands too, because I am the repairman and point of contact for my circles, when it comes to technical stuff. And I read a lot of stuff. My focus is on UI, ergonomics and usability.

For me, Samsung is quite good at overall quality. In reviews a lot of things are not covered like:

- How robust is the charging port?

- How fast will the battery degrade?

- How much radiation does the phone have?

- How is performance in area's with low reception?

- How is call sound quality when using speaker?

- How good is GPS in bad whether or between high buildings?

Etc etc, just a few examples. Samsung does a good job on these kind of things. They really pay a lot of attention to all those many small details.

In the beginning I was no fan of Samsung software. But it's really improving. Just as an example: I cannot find any app on Play Store that can beat Samsung Gallery. And I have been trying for many hours. And of course, One UI beats Samsung Experience beats TouchWiz big time.

But.... there is also a lot of room for improvement! That's why I joined this community. Hoping that Samsung reads along and consider the critics and suggestions.

Hi All I'm Nina from Sheffield, South Yorkshire. I'm new to Samsung Members so am just finding my way around etc & thought I'd say hello.

On Monday 18th Feb I will be celebrating being with my Partner 13yrs, which we will be celebrating at the weekend due to work etc, but we will also be celebrating him getting the all clear from his specialist's & doctors at the hospital from having bladder cancer. He has to have ck up's every 6 months for a year but then it'll be every year ck up's.

I have 2 dogs Stella a Staffordshire Bull Terrier, whom I rescued from a guy who beat her & had her for financial gain. He once took a spade to her back which I took from him & hit him with it. I then took Stella off him to the R.S.P.C.A & reported him to the police, I then adopted Stella. I hate seeing cruelty to animals & if I can intervene I will.

I took Stella for her morning stroll (she was in season so I had to keep my eye out) I was just about to let her off her lead when I saw a black & white Male Australian Sheep dog come out of the bushes. So I didn't let her off her lead because I wasn't going to give the dirty old man a chance of getting his leg over lol. If you have seen Lady & the Tramp movie his face looked like the grey tramp dog in the movie. I told my partner what had happened & for him to keep his eyes peeled when he took her out, typically he just looked around quickly obviously not really paying attention coz he let her off her lead, dirty old man came from the bushes and they ran off together. When Jim finally caught up to them the deed was already done.  9 weeks later Stella began to give birth she had a black & white ***** (nick named Dotty), then a black and white Male (nick named Patch), and finally with a little help from me a brown, black, cream, white, peachy ***** (nick named Cleo), whose sack was to thick for her to tear open, so had to help her, then she wasn't breathing so Jim swung her gently back and forth rubbing her lungs etc & go her breathing. We had decided to keep 1 before the pups were born & to find the other 2 good homes. Which we did. We kept Cleo whom we named Molly.

So I borrowed a book off a friend who used to breed Alsatians.  It told me everything I needed to know, things to do throughout the pregnancy,  stuff to have ready for after she'd given birth, etc. It was a great experience & I loved every minute of it but I wouldn't wanna do it again, it was tiring & u have to have the energy & eyes in the back of ur head lol. We had decided to keep 1 before the pups were born & to find the other 2 good homes. Which we did. We kept Cleo whom we named Molly. It was hard for Stella saying good bye to the other 2, we could see it got her down, but she seemed ok that she'd still got 1 to care for. Molly grew & is taller & bigger than her mum, strange to say she was the smallest. We almost lost her. Jim had taken them for a walk in the woods whilst I had a shower & cooked Sunday dinner. I had shampoo in my hair & heard Jim come in and scream my name so with shampoo in my eyes I jumped out the shower to see what was wrong. In the woods there is a old farm that had got little pens where they had animals etc the pens were still up but no longer in use. Molly had gone 1 way Jim the other &, although he tried to show Molly the way out she decided to jump over the fence which still had barbed wire on top......... Yep she did, she cut herself from where her back leg meets her tummy up her side to her ribs it looked like someone had tried to take her skin off to make a hat or something u could see flesh and mus let and veins etc, it looked bad. So while I rinsed my hair Jim rang the vets was told to take her straight in.  3hrs later we were told to go and fetch her. They had stitched her up best they could, they had left a little hole because there would be swelling of fluids which we were going to have to drain daily. They said they'd done the best they could & now time will tell if it would work or not. If it didn't take then they would have to remove that skin and it would be cruel to keep her alive with a big hole like that and it'd cost a lot of money to buy pads and bandages to put on everyday for the rest of her life so the kindest thing would be to put her to sleep, but they were hopeful that it would be ok. The next morning we looked at it & it looked like a water bomb, we drained the fluid, gave her her tablets, she then took to her bed & only moved to go to toilet & eat. Thankfully she recovered and unless you are shown where it is you really can't tell that she went through all that.

Jim has a daughter whose 27 in Aug,  my step daughter & we're grandparents to a 1 month old girl. I have a son whose 21 in June. Unfortunately Jim & I can't have any more kids due to me being poorly when I was 22yrs old which resulted me having a hysterectomy (having my womb removed). So when we adopted Stella & then having Molly they are our babies & yes we do treat them like they are too. They sleep on our bed & if it's cold get under the duvet with us. Everywhere we go they come to, the treats, toys and anything we can buy for them we do. They are really spoilt, some may say they're treated better than I am.

Jim is a self employed painter and decorator & sub-contracts out to different painting companies working mainly on new build which sell in regions of £50,000.00 - £700,000.00. He also does decorating for friends & family & anyone else who needs him. He's been doing it since he was 15yrs old & left school then gaining all his qualifications in painting and decorating.

I from age of 6yrs old wanted to join the army the Royak Military Police (after my Dad) or in the REME  (Royal Electrical Mechanical Engineers) yep I'm a tom boy always wanted to play with cars, even swapped a doll for a toy car once. Always preferred jeans than skirts & dresses, climbed trees, liked getting muddy etc. Unfortunatly even though I got the GCSE's and also gained a BTEC 1st Diploma in Pre-Uniformed Services gaining 10 passes & 5 merits, having asthma let me down. When I had just finished college about 3 months earlier the Army stopped accepting asthmatics. I spent know what to do I'd worked towards the Army all my life never thought I wouldn't be enlisting. My mother was an Assessor & delivered NVQ's to trainees, said why not do an NVQ level 2 Business Adminisration until you decide what to do so I did. Gained level 2 & 3 Business & Administration, NVQ level 2 Using Information Technology, C.L.A.I.T Stage 1, Telephone Techniques, Microsoft Excel Introduction. I started working for the training centre where my mother worked
