Hi @Hilary2. We're sorry to hear that. Have you tried signing into your email account on a web browser or computer to see if the emails are present, or if they've been deleted from there too?
If it's the latter, this does sound like an issue with your email account rather than the phone. If this is the case, please speak to your email account providers for guidance with this, and to find out if your deleted emails can be recovered.
If it's the former, try removing your email account from the phone, and then go through the set up again. You can remove the account by going into the Email app > 3 dots in top right > Settings toggle in bottom left > Select your account > Delete account.
