Unable to hide navigation bar

For the first Google response I found, this "solution" is pretty trashcan. The solution is that the functionality was removed, and alternatives need to be found.

I found that if you go into the navigation bar setting and then turn off gesture hints it works

My screener of this page shows no navigation icons. Its great not to have them. I've just gotten used to using gestures to navigate. I still wish the orininal option was available. Silly to remove it. Most people like it so why take it away from them? It's about making clients happy right?

Never said it was Bowan. But consider this, prior to this stupid design flaw, when hidden you needed to swipe up and press the menu icon you desired. Since all smart phones are currently subject to gesture navigation in many ways, all I do now is simply gesture the icon I desire from bottom up slightly and it works without the added tap-icon to work. I've become accustomed to this simple system and now don't miss the menu bar at all. Since we haven't control over the brainless who make these changes, we find a way to adapt. Cheers.

Hello,

How do you create specific shortcuts ?
And also what is the "search/settings/..." you have below the time on the top right ?

Thank you !Screenshot_20190817-090244_Chrome.jpg

Not *Really* an auto hide as buttons Do Not appear, even with gesture. Also the swipe may invoke app instead of bar button when app has controls on bottom.
