S9 Muffled when using Bluetooth and handsfree earpiece


When talking on Bluetooth or using the handsfree earpiece the person on the other end cannot hear me. They complain that it's choppy or muffled. Verizon customer service is a joke and always ask for a factory reset. This is my second device and still the same problem. I called Samsung, they want me to send the phone in for repair and be without a phone. When I can, it's Apple time.  Anyone else having the same problem?
