Play Store Issues After Update

Hi there.

Im running the Samsung Galaxy S9+ and since the update for Android 9 on 02/08/19, my Play Store has been having issues.

Any app or app update I try to download gets stuck on either Downloading or Download Pending, either way it just sits there idle with nothing happening.

I've been through troubleshooting steps with Google as I assumed the issue was with them but nothing has worked so I thought I'd check if it was an issue with the update.

Anyone else experiencing this issue or have any idea how to fix?

Thanks.

Hi @iSmoggyy  and welcome to the Samsung Members Forum.

I suggest you to wipe cache partition, if you want to know the benefits, please go to this page :

How to wipe cache partition in your Samsung Galaxy S9

Just like doing the master reset, you also have to reboot your Galaxy S9 to Recovery Mode to access the option to wipe the cache partition. Follow these steps…

  1. Turn off the device.
  2. Press and hold the Volume Up key and the Bixby key, then press and hold the Power key.
  3. When the Android logo displays, release all three keys.
  4. An ‘Installing system update’ message will show for 30 – 60 seconds before the Android system recovery menu options appear.
  5. Press the Volume down key several times to highlight wipe cache partition.
  6. Press Power key to select.
  7. Press the Volume down key to highlight yes, them and press the Power key to select.
  8. When the wipe cache partition is complete, Reboot system now is highlighted.
  9. Press the Power key to restart the device.

I just invite a Moderator @AntS  to help US on this..

1- I just found this, look at section APLLICATIONS, the droid guy is talking a lot about Google Play Store problems :

https://thedroidguy.com/samsung-galaxy-s9-troubleshooting

2- My other solution should be to go in Settings/Apllications/Google Play Store, click on the 3 dots and uninstall update and see if it works

3 -Other major solution is to make a Factory Reset but you need to save everything before with Smart Switch but before doing that, i'd like to see the suggestion of the Moderator because maybe he have another solution better then mine. @AntS  will come soon, just wait !!!

If you want to read about Factory reset  and how to do it, just read :

Hi @Cassidy007

Thanks for trying to help.

I found that the issue was due to a third party app. I recently fell into a little trouble due to online gambling, I banned myself off the websites and subscribed to a service called Gamban. The Gamban has a VPN which blocks access to all possible gambling related apps/websites, this VPN must have been interfering with the Play Store somehow.
I've contacted their support to make them aware of a possible issue with their system

Thanks again

I'd tried everything else including factory reset but nothing worked.
Wiping the Cache Partition has fixed it!!
Great, thanks.
