Google play music

I use Google play music as my default player. Since the update my music no longer plays  The song starts but after about 10 seconds the app shuts down. Is this supposed to happen? How do I get to my songs I've paid to download?

The song will start playing then after about 10 seconds the app closes. I've forced stopped and cleared cache. Restarted phone but problem still exists. I have a galaxy S8 not S9

Try removing the app from the list of battery optimised apps....

Scroll to Google Play app

Check that use battery in background is on

Touch Optimise battery usage

Change Apps not optimised to All

Scroll to Google Play app and move the slider to off.

Hopefully, now all will be well again.
