Battery not charging

My battery on the s9 no longer slow charges. I have the notification light suggesting it is charging and I also have the remaining time until full charge showing, but the battery drains. Even whilst in flight mode.

When I change settings to fast charge, it will charge as normal. It also charges wirelessly.

Due to this issue, I cannot charge via my car or via a powerbank.

Anyone had similar issues who can provide a fix?

That's weird how it fast charges but not normal charges @NativeNeil

Can you try another power cord and charging brick.

Does it charge ok normally via the wireless charger  ?

Perhaps use a torch to look inside the phone port to seeing theres a build up of dust and lint but don't go poking around in there with a sharp implement and please don't use compressed air as that will drive debris up into the phone.

A Samsung Experience Store or Samsung Service Centre can take a look.

I have tried different cables and plugs all to no success.

When it is plugged in and on the slow charge, the screen will randomly light up with the battery % circle appearing giving the impression I have just plugged it in to charge despite it having been 'charging' for sometime.

It charges fine wirelessly.

There doesnt seem to be any build up of dust or lint. It hasn't recently been exposed to moisture. I haven't dropped it or caused any stress to the port, it's just suddenly developed this fault. Very annoying as I'm due a long journey soon and was relying on using a powerbank or car charging which I now cant do

Ok @NativeNeil

Then a Samsung Experience Store or Samsung Service Centre can run a diagnostic.

I appreciate it's frustrating when something fails.

I wish you all the best with this situation.
