Hi

I've got an external USB C SSD drive but it won't mount on my Galaxy S10+ it just says charging USB device but no drive is mounted

It works fine on my Tab S3 and Galaxy A8(work phone )

Any suggestions on what the issue could be with my s10+

Thanks

Kevin

@Kjtaylor13: Depending on the make and model of the SSD drive you may require an OTG cable in order to successfully connect it to your S10+. I recommend checking out a reputable third party retailer to obtain a USB OTG cable, and hopefully this will resolve your query.

I've tried the USB C Adapter that came with my old S9 and user this on my tablet and phone.  Again works on the tablet and not on the phone.

Hi, did you also try the USB debugging on .. USB Configuration  MT Protocol   in the Developer Options ?

And what Format did you  use  ntfs  exfat or fat32

It is located under Device/storage /UsbOtgDrives/

Try also another File Manager/Explorer  to see it

Hi,

I've tried both USB Debugging and the various default USB Settings. Nothing seems to mount the drive.

The drive is formated with exFaT and shows up on other Android devices no problem. My Galaxy Tab S3 and my Galaxy A8 both work seemlessly

Cheers

Connect to device using adapter

Restart device

It will work fine.  It's a glitch in the Android formatting.

Hi

I have just discovered your old question.

You said that it works fine from you tablet.

Just wondered how you formatted the ssd drive as exfat in the first instance.

Can this be done from my Samsung Tab S3 ?

I have the paid version of Paragon USB App installed which will mountvexfat drives, but it does not see my new ssd card.

Any suggestions?

Geoff
