I have a problem with the notification sound from the Messenger application, Viber ... I've tried all possible system settings, no results ... I can not turn off camera shutter sound, there are no more options in camera settings.. It is look like a problem with Samsung 9.0 generally?

Hi there!

For Badges:
Please go to Settings > Notifications > App icon badges (turn on) set to Show with number

For sounds:
The apps involved might included on Sleeping apps and data saver.
These prevent apps from sending you notifications, need to turn off those.

Settings > Device Care > Battery > tap three dots:
Sleeping apps - need to turn off
Notifications - need to turn on

Settings > Connections > Data Usage > Data Saver > set to off

If above fails, back up the messages on those apps, uninstall and reinstall.

For the shutter sound, just like other phones, we need to mute the system sound as a fix.

Settings > Sounds and vibration > Volume > mute the System (shutter sound should have now no sound)

Thanks ^_^

@usere4WZNmxTTv: Try going to Settings > Apps > Messenger > Notifications > Show Notifications. Here you may also see further app-specific notification options, as well as in-app notification settings that I recommend exploring. Hope this helps.

Lol, this post is over two years old, but it solved my problem. Well, to be more specific, it solved my dad's problem. I'm visiting for Christmas, and he mentioned that his Facebook Messenger app had stopped playing the default notification sound when he would get a message. I'd looked at every single notification setting on his phone, uninstalled and reinstalled the app, but nothing worked. Finally, I googled "samsung galaxy note 9 facebook messenger sound not working" and this thread was the 4th search result. Sure enough, he had the Clean Master app installed on his phone. I uninstalled it and he now has sound with his Facebook Messenger notifications again. Thank you for your suggestion!
