WhatsApp voice clips not playing in loudspeaker

Hi, 

My new 5 day old Galaxy A71 is not playing WhatsApp voice messages in the loudspeaker automatically.  When I play that, screen turns off and plays only through earpiece.  Screen freezes at the same time, that i cannot pause or open other message. Screen won't recognize touch. I need to press the back button to stop that.

I restarted the phone, uninstalled and reinstalled WhatsApp, but no luck. When it plays through the earpiece, a green light flickers at the top besides the selfie camera.  

Loudspeaker is working properly for YouTube, Facebook videos, phone calls. I can play the voice clips in loudspeaker if I play that from the media section.

I have the exact same issue with my new A71. I tried uninstalling  and reinstalling WhatsApp and it worked for a while, then reverted to turning the screen off and only playing softly through the earpiece. 

Please let me know how to fix it or please ask WhatsApp to release a fix.
