My sons A6 stopped charging last week. Took to Samsung shop today only to be told that the port is corroded and this is not covered by the warrenty. Repair will cost £151, which seems excessive for a phone which was £230 new. Its now 13 months old. Bit disappointed. They should be more substantial than this. I know my son hasn't dropped it in water, and a little occasional spot of water shouldn't corrode it!
Very dissapointed to say the least Samsung.

Hi @Auburntint , if you take a look on Youtube, you probably can change the charging port by yourself, just wrote something like this galaxy a6 how to change the charging port in the search bar of Youtube to find How to proceed ..
I found some videos but i don't listen and check the procedure, here is some links :
- this one for sure, you only have to desolder and resold the port at 2 places with a soldering iron ..

Thanks for your help, I have found a local shop who say they can fix for £29, which to be honest for the time I would spend trying to do it and not be confident about it, is well worth it.
If Samsung had quoted a reasonable price, say up to £50 or £60 I probably would have got them to fix it.
Like I said originally it's a poor design when a little moisture corrodes it. I know it hasn't been abused or dropped in water.
