Problem with Samsung soundbar hw-m450

When I turn the sound bar on, it either does nothing but make a quiet noise inside the bar, or cut out half way through spelling "HELLO" and then turns itself back off. 

Can this be mended?

Hi @StLeger, please unplug the speaker from the power supply.

Wait a moment before re-connecting the cables and turning the speaker or hub back on.

Also, when and where did you purchase the Soundbar from?
