Took delivery of this brand new product on Saturday only to find I'm one of many reporting that it has a fundamental problem.
It disconnects from the Sub and both Rear speakers when it's turned off. Power cycling the Sub and the Rears will reconnect them but this is unacceptable in a product costing £1500.
Samsung, please respond and let us know that you're aware of this (unbelievable if you're not) and what action is necessary to make this product function correctly. Either a firmware update or an acknowledgement that we might have a faulty batch and require replacements.
See this link for how widespread this has already become:

Hi,
Thank you for al the info here. My HW-Q90r came out of the box with a 1008 firmware. I checked all the setting and if I compare it with the settings posted in this thread the only difference is my W setting. This should be W 0241.0 and mine is W 0240.0
I did a update again for the rears and sub, and W stays at W 0240.0
Any idea if there are different 1008 updates????
My settings:
ON > M 0126.0 > B 1008.0 > H 0051.0 > FD 0040.0 > W 0240.0 > S 0136.0 > RR 0136.0 > RL 0136.0
Firmware version HW-Q90RWWB-1008.0
Same issue here. W stays at W 0240.0, but I have no connection issues. I'll wait for next fw version to see what happens.
Anyway, the soundbar works fine. Won't do anything else for now.

I am based in the UK, and opted for the 1008 update from the US website, as I am suffering from the rear speakers disconnect.
After the update, all appeared well, but after a prolonged period being turned off, I am back to square one, having to power cycle and hope the rear speakers connect on every occasion.
What I have noticed is that my version numbers are different from what others have posted, does anyone know why?
others

Mine

I have updated via USB from Samsung US

You did not update the rear speakers and subwoofer

Strictly follow the instructions here very carefully, don't skip any small step. I had a problem updating the Subwoofer, it stayed at 0240.0, after a couple of tries it updated to 0241.0: https://www.samsung.com/uk/support/tv-audio-video/how-to-update-the-software-of-your-q90r-soundbar/
If everything worked ok, you will see the correct versions:
ON > M 0126.0 > B 1008.0 > H 0051.0 > FD 0040.0 > W 0241.0 > S 0136.0 > RR 0136.0 > RL 0136.0
Samsung should make this process more user-friendly, and make it work from the SmartThings app with a custom update process that shows the update progress and status of the soundbar and the subwoofer + surround speakers. The USB approach should be a last resort approach.
