I have the clear view flip cover for my s8+ but I have noticed that it gets in the way of the finger scanner when opened. This would not be a problem if you could unlock the screen using the finger scanner while the case is closed. Buuuuut.... you can not do this. So I am lookin in to ways to bypass the phons detection of the case. I have discoved that the magnet on the case will not lock the phone unless it is all the way in the case. I have also discovered that a layer of aluminum foil placed in the case prior to the phone will block what ever the phone uses to know the case exists, but it also blocks the wireless charging. I would rather not block the charging. So is there a spot I can block with aluminum foil that will not also block wireless charging and nfc capabilities but will block the case? or where is the chip in the case? Any information about this would be appreciated including destractive teardowns, pattent numbers, or technical drawings.
