SD card stopped working

I've always had an SD card in my S8 but now it's saying there's not an SD card there,I've taken it out,cleaned it,rebooted my phone etc. Does anyone know how I can sort it I have so much stuff on it. Thanks

Can you see if your Sd card works when inserted into another phone ? Or in a reader and hooked up to a computer.

If it does not then there's a possibility that the card is corrupted and one of the ways to get it working again is to reformat but that will delete the info on it.

Thanks for reply. It's saying the SD card needs formatted when I put it in computer, does that mean it's corrupted. I know if I format it it will lose all data but if there is no other option I'll just have to. Other SD cards I've put in as a comparison are coming up without format request

That's possible then.

It once happened to my Sd card so I now create back ups to dropbox and other avenues too.

I'm having same issue with my s8. It's randomly unmounting sd card. Don't really want to format it as will loose everything.
