Used to have watch 2 and it worked great with calls and messages and everything but my wife got me the watch 6 for Xmas and it's useless. Only stays connected to my phone (not Samsung) for 2 to 3 days and then disconnecting itself and won't reconnect. It's getting to be a pain. How do I sort this out. I have looked online and it appears to happen with a Samsung phone too. I was going to replace my phone but looks like that won't help either. Has anyone managed to sort this problem out?

Thanks

The screen will go black, and the device will reboot, addressing any temporary software issues that might be a contributing factor. You should also check for any available software updates for your phone, as well as the Watch 6 via Settings > Software update > Download and install (or using the Wearable app, if applicable, via Watch settings > Watch software update). Let me know if this helps.

Same thing keeps happening to me. Have had the watch for several weeks and it disconnects every week or so. Very frustrating. The option to transfer watch to new phone doesn't work and I end up having to reset. I was going to return the watch and claim a refund but I will try the reboot option next time it happens. This whole issue points to a software problem.

I did a reboot after my latest disconnect but it made no difference. The only way to reconnect is to do a reset. This is time consuming and unacceptable. I never had a problem with my Samsung Gear watch.

I am having the same issue. I spoke with Samsung CS and they told me it would need to go to a technician. Because it was new I returned and received one back but same issue again. I have an OPPO find X5 lite and don't know what to do anymore. Almost giving up and returning

I spoke to a Samsung technician yesterday and he confirmed that this is a known issue with the Galaxy Wearable app, not the watch. It originally happened with some Samsung phones too. The app has been fixed for Samsung phones but not yet for non-Samsung phones. He further confirmed that the app will be updated for non-Samsung and it will be released to the Play Store when ready. He could not give me a timescale. Let's wait and see if it happens. In the meantime, it's annoying resets about once a week.

Many thanks for the update! Once a week? You are lucky! Mine is happening many times per day, I simply cannot use the watch anymore because bat goes in hours. I will wait at least 15 days if not resolved I will have to return

Had similar problem when moving from Watch to Watch 6. For whatever reason Watch 6 manager (plugin) only disabled, not replaced original Watch plugin. So I enabled watch plugin, uninstalled it from the phone and it seems to have resolved the issue.

Got a GW6 for Xmas. My phone is a One plus Nord 2 5G. I had a first loss of pairing in January. I had to reset the watch to factory settings to reestablish the link with the Wearable app. My settings were properly recovered, but the whole process is clumsy and a pain in the...

Second loss in February, again had to reset the watch to factory settings. Again I had to repeat the procedure a couple of times to get it to work as it often hangs before reaching the end.

Third loss a couple of days ago. I managed to recover the link after a factory reset, but I lost the link after a few minutes. Since then I have repeated the factory reset procedure about four times but have not managed to reestablish the link. I now have a useless unconnected Gw6!

To me this clearly points to a messy /unstable Wearable app and to a clumsy reset procedure. I do hope Samsung will fix this very quickly before I have to return the watch. I was a happy user of an amazfit watch for several years and never experienced a single loss of connection with the zepp app.

I once got a message about data that was deleted from Google Play services. That is likely the cause why the Wearable app sees the phone as a new phone and loses connection to the watch. So i think the Wearable Apps registration in the services is crappy. It is just not a good match between the two. Very annoying indeed.

Same here. My phone is a OnePlus Nord with latest LineageOS. I had my first connection loss after the phone completely discharged 3 weeks ago... After that, the pairing lasts 4/5 hours and then disconnects. The phone continuously try to connect to the Watch 6 but it fails. So the battery of both devices is drained really fast.. Very bad from Samsung

As a software dev I can tell that there is absolutely NO reason why a temporary lost connection to a device should lead to such a reinstall armageddon now about every week.

There is just no explanation.

It is a 99% useless device in that state!!! At least it displays the time with OLED.

Edit: I have a xiaomi redmi note pro 13 and tried everything to make the connection stable, but had now to reset the watch about 3 times, spending about three weekends. So I give up. If anybody can explain me in words I can understand why this happens (like said, I am a C++ dev for 25 years) I am all ears. And don't come with complexity or security. You have to always balance security and functionality and if bluetooth does not work, you can for example use WLAN to keep the connection

350 Euro for this ??

Edit2: Is there maybe any phone which is known to work with GW6 _flawlessly_ which is NOT high-end ?
I can not pay additional >500 € for a new phone.

DOES ANY REAL WORKING SOLUTION EXIST AT ALL?

Edit3: Now the wearable app lost the connection while my phone was in my pocket all the time.
So the watch is now completely unusable for me. Sorry for my rant, but it sucks.
Will wait for wear os 6 as the last option.

Edit4: It is sunday and I will probably use the whole day to fix something which can not be fixed as SAMSUNG DOES ONLY CARE ABOUT PROFIT

Edit5: Yep it is true. This time I reinstalled every samsung app and it hangs at 85%. I suggest to make it even more complicated. You could for example sell an additional third samsung encryption bracelet on the other wrist. Which connects with... NFC? Heck, you will never get it

Edit6: I want a personal excuse of the SAMSUNG CEO and I want to never work again

UPDATE: After one week of my previous post, I installed an OTA update from LineageOS and the connection problem disappeared. After some weeks of continuous use (and lineage weekly upgrades) I can confirm that now pairing is loss only when the phone and the watch are too far, but then they reconnect immediately after they get closer... So I'm actually (and luckly) in a full working situation.

Maybe the problem has something to deal with phone bluetooth drivers or kernel version, I didn't investigated... But if that is the problem, samsung should be more precise on supported phones/android versions...

I hope this informations will help someone... Good luck!

Samsung says to send it back to warranty :)) this is funny as the watch is 2 weeks old... tried every possible way... i wake up with a notification that Manager Plugin does not have access to notifications and the watch says disconnect and re-set to re-pair...

Kindly highlighting the re-pair statement... so they actually know that it has been disconnected from the phone... but nobody knows why... if you wish, i can send the logs...

Thanks. I have put down the watch and live without it. A matter of getting used to it.

It is IMHO_intentionally annonying_. You have to reset and reinstall everything _completely_ when some signal is temporarily lost.
Like I said, there is NO explanation. It should be simple but intentionally is not.

Samsung does not have to explain it. The only way these days to get your right is a shitstorm, but in this case, capitalism is stronger again

Edit: It reminds me of the emission scandal in germany. So, if anybody can find a proof by reverse engineering about 35 plugins that non samsung mobiles intentionally break the connection, we could sue samsung the next years 😂

And even IF somebody would find a proof, samsung could live with ANY penalty and STILL annoy a lot of people with connection-"problems" with their next watch
