Today was watching TV ... suddenly TV went off and tried to reboot.

The screen gone black and the One Connect Box remains in a rebooting loop. You can hear a click sound inside .... shortly you hear some TV Channel sound ... then the sound goes away ... screen goes black again the logo "Samsung QLED TV" shortly displayed .... and all over again ....

This TV is only via One Connect Box connectable. Box Model: BN68-07104D-00

TV Model: GQ55Q90RGTXZG

Question: Is the One Connect Box Faulty or the TV Screen itself ?

Hi King76,

Will give you here the latest information:

- after my TV Set got broken I contacted the Samsung Support Service. The first slot available to talk to a service person was only 1 week later possible. So, after waiting for 1 week long, the Support guy called me and after describing the defect and behavior of the fault in detail, he suggested that probably a capacitor in the power module of the One Connect box probably bursted out. My TV was/is only 4 years old - of course with 2 years out of the warranty time. The Support team-member gave me a local Samsung Partner Repair Shop where I could ask for fixing/repair the TV Set. I contacted the repair shop and they asked me to give them all the serials details that could be found on the back of each device from the set along with some videos of the defect manifestation. After that, they gave me some price ranges for the repair as follows:

- Around 300€ for the power module of the One Connect box
- Around 280€ for the Mainboard box
- Display itself like around 1000€ :))))
- The connection cable between the box and the display like around 280€ :)))) .... one cable :)))

Based on that answer, was clear that they have no clue what could be wrong with my TV Set, so I shall bring it over to them to check out. Only to check it out there costs like around 50€. Which you pay anyway even in the case that the TV can't be fixed. They also offer the service to transport (for you) the device there and back for a fairly "nice" price.

- I brought the device to the repair shop, and one week later, the response was: the QLED panel must be replaced (which costs around 900€) .... :))))
But (even so) not sure that they can get that part if they order it.

Of course, that the device will be brought back home, as is, for more forensic evidences and maybe a possible law suit against Samsung. This is for me a clear sign of Design Fault that they were/are (in my opinion) totally aware of but do not want to admit. As long as many more users are facing this issue could be a collective law suit.

It is just not possible to purchase a premium product (which costs around 2000€) and after 4 years without any outside interference, to break down suddenly like that. You can imagine in this 4 years I could have bought 4 TVs for 500€.

They just sold a faulty designed TV Set (which, in my opinion, they knew is faulty) and made some nice profit out of it. Now, they probably, expect that I will buy another of their product :))))))))

Already searching for other manufacturers (Sony, LG, Hisense...) - Never Samsung again. They fooled me this time.

I wish you good luck with your next TV Device Manufacturer.

Hi Spencer17 .... you maybe are lucky that you are still in the warranty period (if 24 months warranty). Try contacting Samsung Support so they can give you advice how to proceed further. But this proves, once more, that Samsung Quality Department is not doing the right thing. Currently, I am looking to close the membership, on this community, as I do not want to buy any products from Samsung anymore nor to hear about this company.

The TV is about 5 years old.

Bought an LG OLED55G4 instead.

I would like to repair it, but I haven't tried yet. I think this is a NAND flash problem (bad blocks). Such symptoms have been described in older Samsung TVs when there is a bad block problem.

Hi everyone. I have exactly the same problem with my Samsung one connect TV. The interesting thing is in all cases it appears that, just like my TV, after four years they stop working (interesting ). There is no fix for the problem. Samsung have no answers to the problem ( surprising ). They offered me a 15% discount off a Samsung TV if I wanted to repeat the painful and expensive exercise ( laughable ). When Samsung asked me if there was anything else they could help me with I asked her to text me the nearest L G TV sales outlet as LG are give ng a five year parts and labour guarantee. She declined.

Hi,

I'm writing to express my utter frustration with Samsung as a brand after experiencing a major issue with my 65" Samsung TV.

In the middle of a movie, the screen blinked once and went completely black. Now, the TV refuses to start. When I disconnect the One Connect Box, the TV displays a message saying the cable isn't connected, and while I can still turn the TV on and off, there is no picture—just a dead screen.

I reached out to Samsung's so-called "technical service," only to be told they didn't even have the parts for this model anymore. They didn’t even bother to inspect the device, simply dismissing me with that weak excuse.

Is this the kind of quality and service Samsung provides? It’s absolutely unacceptable.

Meanwhile, my old Sony Bravia, which is many years older, still works flawlessly without any issues. I guess that's the difference between a brand that stands by its products and one that pushes overpriced, disposable junk onto its customers.

Samsung really expects people to throw more money at them for this kind of failure and pathetic service? Forget it. I'll be buying a Sony next time—at least they build products that last.

I have the same problem, I am frustrated and lost my €900 trying to repair it, I replaced main board but may be i was stupid that this is not the reason, may be inverter board, atleast a TV repair honest person can diagnose and tell us the quick and easy and cheaper fix so everybody can thank him and pay him. Atleast any TV technician create a video or suggest to buy particular board for a fix. I am loosing hope, don't know what to do? How we would be compensated? 😢☹️😭

I purchased my Samsung 65” “One Connect” in 2017. Just recently October 2024 for over $2,000.00 US dollars. I unplugged my tv & one connect to do some cleaning. When I moved it and plugged everything back in as it was before I got a blank screen. After speaking & trouble shooting the problem, I was told to find a replacement for my One Connect unit. Now after reading all of same problem with One Connect its clear to me that I will have to not purchase a Samsung tv in the future. I will find a more service friendly LG or SONY.

i got my QN800a to stop rebooting by using a blower (a notebook blower) to suck the hot air from the one connectbox, but i think it is an absurd, because i already had it suspended to stop restarting since when i first bought it, i should have asked for a refund when it first happened

I am a samsung user with more than 20 other samsung products around the house(you can't call me a hater), but i think i will get a LG TV next time mainly if it is another 8k TV, won't loose my time trying to repair because all the other users (***** as me) here in brazil were asked for values around the purchase price
