topic HDMI switch not responding in TV

My Samsung TV has two Hdmi inputs. One is connected to a SkyHD box and the other one needs to respond to an hdmi switch which has a blue ray player and Chromecast with Google tv. I can't get the switch to change from one to the other and need to switch input sources manually by unplugging hdmi cables direct from blu ray or chromecast. I have tried all inputs into the switch using one input on TV. No joy. Anyone got any ideas please?

The TV has experienced power cuts but to be clear are you suggesting set up switch as desired with TV disconnected from power and then restart?
