Hi,

I was a happy owner of my 6 years old Samsung, but had an opportunity to buy used Samsung HG55EJ690UBXEN quite cheap. I didn’t realise that this newer TV doesn’t have mini jack, which I used to use to connect to my Logitech 2.1 speakers (Z623).

now, because of the kids, we used to use a splitter ( 1 male mini jack to 2 female mini jacks) in the night time to watch some movies, but couldn’t anymore as don’t have anywhere to plug it in.

I bought another set of speakers- Logitech Z625 that has an optical input.

now my problem is that I don’t have a control of the volume, when signal is going out through optical, so every time I have to walk and turn dial to adjust the volume (as they don’t have a remote control)

is that lack of control normal? What can I do, to solve a problem, so I can use headphones again?

Yes, it's normal and common for Samsung to forget to add the volume control. Lots of people are having trouble with this stupidity.
