I have also tried with my Mac and an iPhone 8 and it's still the same problem.

I've searced everywhere on the net for a solution and have come up with nothing.

Can anyone help?

I think I figured it out. For some reason when I plugged TV directly into my router with a cord, AirPlay worked. So I realized the problem may not be with the TV, but the signal between the router and TV after I first connected the TV to my internet.

So, I then decided to reset my router by unplugging it for a few minutes and then plugging it back In. It seems like that "refreshed" the system and all the devices connected to it (my tv included) and it has been working for two days now.

I have the same problem. Have an RU7100 Samsung smart tv, theoretically, compatible with Airplay. However, I cannot get iPhone or MAC connected to the tv. I tried the cable Ethernet TV to router but that didn't seem to work, not sure if i need to reset something or simply connect. Tried factory reset, update software from the tv & hard reset. Even looked for an Apple TV app. Nothing seems to work. Any ideas or solution. In fact in the Settings, General tab, Airplay does not even appear as an option. Help!!

THX

Every now and then mine goes off too. I just plug the Ethernet cord back in and it goes back to working fine. A day or two later I unplug it, reconnect wifi, and it works again.

Eventually I’m gonna drill a hole in the wall to hide the Ethernet cord from sight, then just leave it in. It’s not ideal, but what I’ve been doing has been working.

Having the same problem but none of the methods I saw online was able to solve it. I figured out some ways by my own, and hopefully it could help anyone who also having this problem:

Method ❶：

•Find “Reset” in your “Setting”-“General”, then reset everything from the start.

•Connect Airplay

If Method ❶ isn't working, try Method ❷：

•“Setting”-“General”-“Network”-“Network Status”-“Retry”-“Close”

•Reconnect the Wi-Fi on your iPhone

•Connect Airplay

If both of them don't work, try Method ❸:

•Check if you have ever changed your default Wi-Fi password, if yes, reset it to the default one.

•Reconnect the Wi-Fi on TV and your iPhone

•Connect Airplay

⬆️Some unprofessional methods but successfilly solved the problem.

I solved this by changing my TV’s internet connection to the 2.4Ghz band. When I reconnected my TV to the internet, it prompted me to use the 5Ghz band, and I had to click cancel to stick with 2.4Ghz. So you may be on the 5Ghz band without really realising.

Go to settings, general, network, then connect to your internet ‘without’ 5Ghz in the name. When prompted to use the 5Ghz band instead, click cancel. This solved the problem for me.

The airplay function was working perfectly for weeks until one day it didn’t. I have tried every solution listed on this thread and nothing works. The TV shows the airplay option as functioning. Everything goes fine until I go to connect and the wheel spins on the screen until infinity. Plugging directly into the router is not an option, as they are on different floors.
I have:
- unplugged router, TV, powered phone off and on, reset factory settings on TV, re-entered WiFi password, made sure both phone and TV are on same WiFi, they are both on 2 ghz...

NOT ideal, Samsung. This is a new TV! 👎🏼
