Can someone please suggest a decent set-up for watching football my TV when connected to an external HDMI source.

Currently, my 10 year old Sony Bravia is better to watch football on than my new Samsung?!

I would say generally for sport would say best to have brightness contrast and sharpness a bit higher than defaults (though not maximum settings), however depends on preference and can be a bit of trial and error. Standard Mode should be fine with adjustments , compared to other content. You may wish Auto Motion Plus at lower settings (can tweak to see the best experience)

It is an Edge lit Medium Range model and local dimming is not considered to be particularly impressive.
