This touch screen responds by simply holding your finger close to it without touching it.

This problem causes a quick tap to result in a false recognition.
Expect a fix in the software update.

Thanks for the reply.
There was a post in another community that says it responds when you put your finger a few millimeters away from the display.
I don't think this is a problem in general, but I suspect that the problem will be discovered in some games and so on.

This has been an issue since before the last update but after the one before. Using the On Screen keyboard double taps are registered when typing. This results in double letters being typed in words. Autocorrect picks up some of them but not all and I have to go back and edit what I type. This is even worse when hitting the space as it registers as an end of sentence and inserts a period and capitalises the next word.

This is enfuritating me to no end! Please can this be resolved asap

The screen is so slippery that if I place it down screen faced down, the tablet normally slides off whatever surface its on. Would a matte screen protector or similar resolve a lot of these issues? I don't need it hugely sensitive for things like drawing as I use it for work and media consumption/web

Not resolved. I was hoping that a firmware update would improve the problem, but I guess the developers don't know about this problem or are not interested in it.

Has anyone notice when you open a game sometime you game sensitivity slows down drastically? this happened after the new update came out

I have confirmed that the problem has not improved after the update. There are some new problems, but unless you can share the specific problems, it will be subjective.

Tablet definitely have some touchscreen issues, I have mine approximately 3 months and having issues all the time while playing games even though everything seems normal on everyday normal use. I'm not sure is it software or hardware related but touches just disconnects when holding fingers on screen. You can see it in this short video, happens quite often and makes tablet practically unusable for playing.

Yes I find the screen too sensitive ruins my game play at times hope it's fixed soon or they introduce a game mode

My Tab S6 has same problem!

The touchscreen is oversensetive

I realized the problem when I started to use the tablet. Then, I bought one more Tab s6. However, the second one has also same problem.

Futhermore, In order to find out if it was a problem specific to the device or the product itself, I went to a store in Tokyo that had an almost new Tab S6 and touched it. （I'm a Japanese）

Unfortunately, the Tab S6 in the store also has a problem with the touch sensetivity!

I've already reported the problem to Samsung once, but I'm going to complain to Samsung again because this is obviously strange.

Samsung must deal with it immediately！

Has this been solved?bec even typing is a problem for me.if i dont delete the extra letters it will look like this "yyeeeess tthhhhiiiiis iiiissss bbbbaaaaaddd thiiiiss is onnnlyy prrresssinnggg thhhe leeeetteeerrrrs onnnccee" some say you need a glass screen protector.i have the best glass screen protector in the market but still this happens.

STILL an issue 5 years later, i dont expect a fix anymore. Whoever's reading this with a "im sure i wont have that issue" attitude, dont EVER buy samsung devices you will be a CLOWN.

the screen detects touches without actually touching the screen.

i'm going to do my best to spread the word and make sure nobody buys samsung devices ever again, all family members, everyone i know online, on every social media, i will make SURE samsung loses a disproportionate number of sales for this defective unit here. It is difficult just to write a sentence because of this awful screen. Samsung must spend so much on advertising, but I'm going to be putting out a SIGNIFICANT amount of bad press for samsung. Ik most others cba to do that because they're used to being sht on by life and are just defeated, but I'm seriously going to actively discourage others from buying samsung products. Even now, words i type out are getting completely distorted, either by the awful autocorrect, the awful screen or a mix of both, where it detects my tap on thr autocorrect bar. Notice how i typed 'thr' and it didnt correct it just then? The autocorrect is tailor made to make you look like a clown. I finally managed to copy this piece of text from this awful website and using these awful keyboard controls. Truly abysmal. I definitely have over 60 more years to live, that'll be 60 years of actively discouraging whoever i can from buying samsung. Ill be hanging around shops like a WEIRDO discouraging people to buy samsung, but ill only be repeating the issues other people have had, with evidence. I know i can deter a significant number of people away from purchasing samsung products over DECADES. Yeah idc how much samsung makes, ill carve out a mark no matter how small it appears to be and ill feel AMAZING doing it,
