Connecting a Tab A (2017) to a TV via HDMI

Can I connect a Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.1 (2017) tablet to a TV using a HDMI cable?

I hooked up a USB-C to HDMI adapter with a HDMI cable - TV shows "No Signal". Tried it on all the HDMI ports on the TV.

Any ideas?

Just a little guess, but did you try to enable smart view? Never tried it though HDMI but it is a way to cast the display to a screen

Hi did you work out how to do this? We are struggling to find right cable to connect a Samsung Galaxy A Tablet 10.1 2017 to our Samsung TV so we can watch sport from our sky go app. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
