Issues can occur with apps locally, and not necessarily wide spread across all devices. The steps provided are to eliminate any local issues with the app as you mentioned it occurs when using this app in particular.

I got a Galaxy Rab A11 plus just after Christmas. I absolutely love this tablet. However, I've noticed a very intermittent issue. Whilst the tablet is in a mount that's attached to an arm attached to my headboard, I like to watch YouTube. On more than 3 occasions now, during a video, the touchscreen suddenly accepts no input and I have no control over the screen. If I put the tablet to sleep and then immediately wake it up, all is fine again. I initially thought it was the case the tablet was in whilst in the mount, so I used the tablet naked in the mount. The issue happened again. Interestingly only ever in YouTube.

I really hope this isn't a hardware issue. I've never seen the issue when using the tablet both outnofbthe mount and not using YouTube.

Any ideas?

Photos included are the mount and the case.

The mount i use.

As this behaviour only occurs in YouTube, there could be crash occurring within the app. Make sure it is fully up to date through the Play Store. After that, clear the cache and monitor. You can do this through Settings > Apps > YouTube > Storage > Clear Cache.

Failing that, try resetting the app entirely by clearing the data. Same steps, just select Clear Data instead of Clear Cache.

I still have my Galaxy Tab A9 and that has never encountered this issue so I'm not convinced that it's YouTube. It feels more likely that there is an issue with the orientation sensor.

I've already put in a request with Amazon for a repair. But I could try that and see if the issue repeats.

Tried that. Seemed ok for several days but sadly the issue reoccurred just moments ago, still whilst in YouTube. I've requested a repair through Amazon where I bought the tablet. Its going to be looked at. Something isn't right with this tablet.

Did following the same steps after the behaviour reoccurred fix it again? If so, it does point to an issue with the app itself. If that's the case, it's best to report this to the YouTube app developers using their contact details in the Play Store. That way they can look to get this fixed in a future app update.
