S11 Ultra. Swipe down to enter Dex. How to disable?

New feature on UI8 on new S11 Ultra, when you swipe down from middle to enter Dex mode is killing me I do not need Dex to be enabled automatically! When I need it, I will enable.
Is it possible to disable this new "brilliant" festure?

Hmm that does look like a potential annoyance. It's definitely a new feature of the new series, so unfortunately I can't advise as to how it works or can be disabled. I'd suggest doing a search in the settings for DeX and look for any options that may relate.

Just an update on this feature, it's not adjustable but it's a design that has it's uses. It's basically a quick way of switching an app in and out of DeX mode which actually is very handy to have. One example of it's usefulness is an app that opens in the wrong orientation under normal Android, but you flip it in DeX mode and you can use it whichever way you want on the fly, very nifty. It also doesn't intrude long so it's not as disruptive as I first thought.

You can allways drag from top left corner to make app floating. I don't need Dex to be enabled for that.

Anyway, I found a way to completely remove that shortcut in settings

Great, personally haven't had any issues with it being there so far.

I'm actually liking what they've done with DeX now as it isn't really a matter of enabling/disabling it anymore. It's pretty much seemlessly integrated into Android so all you really have is whether you want to use a setup with it or not and to switch in and out is as simple as dragging a window to the top of the screen.

Settings -> Advanced Features -> Multi Window -> "Show handle for full-screen apps" will be enabled, disabling it should remove the little gesture handle at the top.

This is indeed extremely annoying, I couldn't tell how I kept getting into Dex mode.... at least now I know why.

Ok, got rid of that. The other thing thats is super annoying is the little desktop icon that pops up when you press the 3 vertical lines to close open apps. It has gotten in my way and I would love to disable it. I don not want or need this annoying "feature".

i swear to god thank you for opening this discussion i thought i was mad. i hate this feature so bad i can't even tell you. i logged in and commenting just to talk sht about it.
is there a way now to use that top handle without activating dex? i use that handle all the time. i don't see why a gesture that was so frequently used needed to be changed to a completely different, very specific feature. and i'm also outraged that there's nothing in the settings and on the help page of samsung.

It's actually very intrusive for apps that have specific display settings (drawing apps amend gaming apps), as the desktop mode is particularly easy to actually enter, but the only way I've found to exit said mode is by closing the desktop and therefore the apps that I prefer to be open, in regular tablet mode because I'm using them on my tablet.

Really hoping for an easy to find "disable" option, yesterday.

Does this not also remove the other functionality that this bar (once) held? It already seems that we're no longer able to quickly swap out spot screen apps using the bar, but that's also the way I window/split screen/full screen toggled all of my frequent use apps- another issue on that list is really disrupting my entire work flow.

Honestly though, once I knew what was happening, it was easy to just move my finger slightly to the side. Issue resolved.

Right. I, too, have learned to adapt. This, however, does not change the reality that my workflow has been entirely disrupted, currently without remedy.

[The fact that I can avoid the annoying thing is, unfortunately, tangential to the overall problem, which is removed convenience/functionality for the sake of a separate nuisance.]
