When batteries were user replaceable, battery problems were few and far between! When a battery appeared to be having problems, you could inspect it, even replace it. Now with planned obsolescence, the battery is sealed in place awaiting a catastrophic failure! Hopefully, the EU will mandate replaceable batteries, like it mandated USB C on mobile phones. And I really don't want to hear about IP waterproof standards. That's for marketing! Real world you drop your mobile phone in a sink full of water it's a goner! IP whatever number, it's dead or dying.

My S9 tab exploded.
It was using it when it overheated, sending flames throught the frame, burning my skin. I now have scars. Clearly a battery issue

It's the same issue that happened with their Notes 7s and more recently 25+.

The tablet was in perfect condition, but Samsung are denying it's their fault. Watch out.

Yes, Samsung looked at the device. But their response has been illogical. One of their comments was that the issue may have been related to impact or heat to the device. That makes zero sense - the device was in perfect condition and the heat damage was caused by the fire itself, which is very obvious given the whole device expanded out under the heat as the battery exploded. I have had to start legal proceedings

Yes, the support team were terrible. We asked for info about what was a the spoke the poured out, as my wife if pregnant. They refused to tell us. Their only interest seems to be in falsely denying liability. Fortunately I took lots of pictures and deal with similar device issues for work, so will be able to prove it was a manufacturing defect. It's just going to take a long time going through the legal process. Hopefully noone gets hurt by similar device explosions in the meantime
