Hi, everybody.

Since the year 2,016, I have been using these four Samsung devices. Two smartphones and two tablets.

For the moment, I have only three SIM cards, all three at the same mobile operator.

No matter what I have been trying so far, I cannot persuade the Samsung Galaxy Tab A6 (2,017 or something) to use a SIM card, anymore.

It did once, originally.

I cannot understand yet where lies the problem.

Maybe its operating system is too old, Google Android 8.1.0.

Maybe the mobile operator did some changes in relation to the usage of the tablets and, surprisingly, they say that they do not provide support for tablets.

Does anybody have any clue?

Has anybody encountered this issue already?

Thanks for reading.

Hi, @Tourbillon De La Vie.

Thank you for replying to my original post.

I will try here to detail what is happening.

Steps to reproduce:

1. Insert a valid SIM card in one of the smartphones, for instance in the Samsung Galaxy J3 smartphone (2,016 or something, which is even older than the dysfunctional tablet). There, the SIM card is functional.

2. Move the valid SIM card to the dysfunctional Samsung Galaxy Tab A6 tablet (2,017 or something).

3. Attempt to call someone.

Actual result:

A "Not registered on network" error appears. More information in the attached screenshot.

Expected result:

The call should start.

Error on call.

Hi, @Tourbillon De La Vie.

Many thanks for your precious input.

Before reading your reply, I have called twice the support call center of the mobile operator.

I have been handled by two ladies.

So rough, that I am happy that I am remote!

At least I have not been beaten yet.

The first lady told me something about the Access Point Names, but that I should do it myself.

The second lady told me (again) that they do not provide support for tablets, but that it is rather related to VoLTE, and again, that I should do it myself.

The webpage that you have addressed does not contain the "tablet" character string.

It is probably related to smartphones and to newer Google Android operation system versions.

In my setup, I cannot find the "Connections" / "Mobile Networks" menu option.

It is interesting that the tablet used to work with a certain SIM card, and it does not want to work anymore with a newer SIM card.

So, probably, the problem lies here:

Update APN settings. If you've recently switched service providers, updating the Access Point Name (APN) settings might be necessary. As this is an advanced fix, carefully note the default APN settings to revert back if needed.

I think that I have changed up to three mobile operators on this tablet. So, something might have become intricate inside it.

Horrible confusion, @Tourbillon De La Vie.

I was merely inserting the S.I.M. card the wrong way, upside down.

The tablet does not complain when it is inserted wrongly, nor does it sense that it has been inserted wrongly.

After inserting the S.I.M. card correctly, it has worked.

Thanks anyway for your tremendous help.

Cheers.
