topic Which charger would work in the UK for my old tablet? in Tablets

Hi all,

Whilst travelling through Australia in 2012, I bought a Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 and recently came across it again in the attic (back home in the UK)

Unfortunately I only have the data cable, and lost the actual plug section. It was a very specific plug that came in 2 parts and slid together, and it did work here in the UK with a travel adapter. But alas, I have lost the plug section through time.

I do know that using UK chargers gave me a red X on the battery and would not charge, so there must be an incompatability with the amperage of the charge perhaps? But I have searched fat and wide for a AUS Note charging plug with no joy. I can't even find any specs of the AUS charging speed of their plug to perhaps seen a similar UK 3 pin charger for it.

I was wondering if anyone had any idea or help with a charger that may work? I did see a 2.0A charger on Amazon UK but without knowing if it will work, it may be a waste of money.

If you buy it on Amazon and it doesn't work, you can always just return it within 30 days. Just make sure it's sold by or FB Amazon.

As far as I know, the Galaxy Tab 2 uses a micro USB, so you should be able to simply charge it from any micro usb cable connected to any type of powered USB outlet (plug wall socket, hub adapters, PCs/laptops, Power banks etc).

Thank you so much for the reply! I have to apologise though, I have went back through very old emails and discovered that I have given the wrong information!

The tablet is actually a Samsung Note 10.1, bought in 2014. Also with it being an Australian model, the UK charging voltage is incorrect with AU models.

Even so, the same still applies. It should use a micro USB and therefore shouldn't be too much trouble charging it. If you have any older micro USB cables, try plugging them in to the tablet to see if it charges. Region isn't an issue as USB charging is standardised with these devices.

Ahh that's the older model then. In that case, you can buy the adapter to USB A and try charging it that way from a normal USB A cable.

Something like this should work.

https://amzn.eu/d/2cXKHmz

I noticed you said you only have the data cable, but if it's a USB A cable end, you can simply charge it from that cable.
