Hallo everyone,
My tablet is a model S6 and it has nkt been running too well these past few days. It has been heating up on the side of it and has been incredibly slow. Everytime I press an app icon it takes at least 5 seconds to fully load (which is EXTREMELY infuriating!) I've noticed that this has only happened when I use WhatsApp and Samsung Internet to access Instagram. When I use Samsung Interent though it completely crashes my tablet. I just deleted Pinterest to stop this from happening as I feel that could be cause the issue although it could be my Amazon Music too which often times likes to be incredibly slow. This could also be cause though by the heat as it is very hot right now and the tablet has never really done this before. Someone please help!

The S6 is 6 years old/5 if the 5g version so I imagine it's more the device struggling at this point than anything else. Software would also be very out of date due to the fact the device hasn't had updates in quite a few years; some apps may struggle with compatibility. Especially the batteries within the device. IMO it may br worth looking at a new device.

But you could try
*hold volume down and power button until device restarts (soft reboot)
*go to the app store on both google and samsung store and make sure everything is up to date
*check storage and make sure theres space- low storage can cause issues
*keep out of sunlight for too long- summer isnt very kind to devices
*try use the "device care" app if available

Thank you John! I just had a heart attack reading how old the s6 is but I can't fix how old it is 😔 I mean it did have an update in June though. Also the place I bought this tablet from did sell it for £300 pounds so I was expecting it to be quite high end! But thank you for the suggestions!

Is the memory loaded? You might consider backing up some of the memory and save it on a SD card or a SSD portable memory and uninstall some apps. The tab has only 4 GB of memory and while is enough for light use, if the memory gets loaded it makes the tab run slow. Freeing up memory will help to make the tab fast again.

Ah yes thank you! Ive got a new phone that im waiting to put pack code in so transferring some things over from this to that might help me a bit. But with the memory loaded thing I'm not sure sorry! 🤷‍♀️

Could be memory. With only 4 GB of RAM, I imagine this is the issue. I would go through and delete any apps you don't use, make sure there are none running in the background, and be sure to restart the device now and again to refresh the RAM. If your device has the "Device care" app, I'd suggest clicking the optimize button. The same goes for the "Good Guardians" app you can download; go through and optimize with that app if available.

With small RAM it's easy to overwhelm it. Apps and videos take up the most space.
