Video Files Gallery

Good morning everyone
i’m receiving a strange issue with recording on my galaxy A9 tab plus. My intentions are to record videos that are at least one hour long. The video recording is completely fine but when I visit the gallery, it appears that the file has been split into two separate files. Upon testing this a few times it appears that there is no consistency to when it will stop recording and start a new file. Is there anyway I can turn this off? I’m possibly going to have to return this product as this is no use to me. I believe that this device is currently running the latest software .Please help

Hi and Welcome.

Video shooting is normally taxing for smart compact devices in general due to heat generation and possibility of trotteling to combat that.

Any particular reason for not just doing small segments of videos and joining them in post?

So the device is unable to record for long periods due to overheating ?

That's one of the possibilities even on flagship devices.

Maybe in a controlled environment at home with cooling , no mobile data etc you could pull it off 😊

Hi! Welcome to the Samsung Members community!

Some camera apps, including the stock Samsung camera app, may have built-in limitations to prevent excessively large files. This can be for stability, storage management, or to prevent data corruption in case of a crash. To my knowledge, you cannot stop this.

You may need to reduce the quality of the video. Video resolution and frame rate: Lowering these settings will reduce file size.

Please note that Samsung has a pre-installed Studio app (or it should be in the store) where you can combine videos into one.

If your recording long video's over a certain length of time, yes they will be spilt into different files.

Where are the videos saved, internal storage or SD card?

Please open "My Files|" and navigate to one of the files, tap a file to select it, tap the three dots, and tap Details.

What is the size of the file?
