Once the Samsung logo appears, release the Power button. When the screen goes blue/black release the Volume up button.

Hi,

I have a Galaxy Tab S8 (SM-X700) which I cannot get into the boot menu.

I have powered it down and then holding the volume-down and power buttons, let it start.

It basically goes into a loop of flashing up the Samung logo until I release the power button, then it just

boots normally.

I have tried this with the S8 plugged into a computer Pi 500, maybe needs to be a Windows device?

I have to try clear out the device cache to fix another problem.

Any ideas anyone?

Thanks

Hi. It could be the device you're connecting it to can't detect the drivers. I would say the best option would be to connect to a pc/ laptop. In theory a usbc headset too but I've seen reports of issues with that too

https://www.samsung.com/uk/support/mobile-devices/how-do-i-clear-the-cache-on-my-device/?srsltid=AfmBOorr6k9bHn_I8iGGFFI8gHdMs-PI0IhV3cGBQ-nH02iqYIIA36fr

Hi,

Ok, the problem as I was not plugged into a PC and also was holding the power-down instead of power-up 🤐.

I have wiped the device cache which will hopefully will fix the long-term problem I was having. In a nutshell the UI locks up, the buttons bottom right (3 x vertical bars, rounded square and less-than) stop responding. The only way to clear this is to tap the screen off button on the side and then wake up the screen with the same button (basically my fingerprint). This happens every 30 seconds or so.

If it still persists I will start a new thread.

Thanks to everyone who responded - much appreciated.
