Hi all,

Should I be concerned that my Tab S8 tablet has a Security patch level: 1st August 2024?

Where are the September and October patches?

Hi there no you should not be worried about that, it is the latest one who will appear on updates

Hi, is two months ago the latest update? My S21 Plus received an October security patch yesterday.

Yes, everything if fine since tablets releases updates quarterly you should wait for it

Hi, I wasn't aware of the pattern. Thank you. So, a new update will be coming in November, and perhaps with Android 15 too?

Most likely it will come next month but keep checking manually and as far as android 15 goes it will be next year the first phones who will get it it will be the new s25 series, then s24 and so on, since there was no public beta for one ui 7 this year and only for developers the stable release of android 15 (one ui 7) will be with new s25 series next year.

Tablets receive quarterly updates not monthly ones like smartphones do.

My tab s9 ultra is on security patch August. Remember tabs are updated quarterly. While in settings > security and privacy > updates. Make sure Google play system update is on the latest. Sometimes the latest is downloaded with update. Sometimes not. Worth checking, I'm on 1 September for the google update.

Me too. Why is it done quarterly? Then with the Google Playstore, mine is 1st September too.

Not sure why samsung update tabs quarterly. Would be nice to see their flagship tabs be monthy updates.

Yes it does, samsung release to maby phones, it takes months after google critical security updates even on phones that samsung charge over a £1000 for to get these update patches inexcuseable, like all koran manufacturers they move on quickly, one flagship phone after another, dropping promided monthly updates to 3 monthly or six monthly in 2 years or so, then it normally 3 month late, fed up with this, quick regular security patches are essensual to keep your phone or tablet safe

Sad thing is their updates dont always carry the full security patches released by google, & are months late, not good samsung phones are great but security lacking, at least google pixel phone which are poor in conparison get full monthly security patch updates, every month on time
