Galaxy tab 9 wont start or charge

Hi,

I bought Galaxy tab 9 two months ago, it's been working fine, but now I am having a problem with it. I was on a vacation and didn't use it for two weeks, so the battery died, so I put it on charger, but it's not charging. The light doesn't come on. I have tried different chargers, I've even tried usb charging from laptop with two different cabels etc. Other devices charge with no problem, but the table doesn't. I tried to force it on by pressing both switches on the side for 15 seconds, and nothing happens. I don't know what to do, and my closest Samsung service is over 70km away, so is there anything I can do to fix it at home? Did some have the same problem?

Hi, and welcome to the community

With the tablet plugged into charger. Try holding the power button and volume down button simultaneously for about 10 seconds. Release when Samsung logo appears.

Failing that try leaving it on charge overnight.

Thanks, sorry, you just said 'buttons', so I just wanted to make sure you used the correct volume button. It has to be volume down. Hopefully, it will charge overnight.

Leaving it over night didn't help as well. And now I noticed that even the blue charging light isn't on when I charge it. My chargers work as i charge other devices on it too. Also I checked there isn't any garbage etc. on the charging gate. Starting to think the tablet died on it's own for the lack of use.

You could try plugging into a working PC and leave it for a few hours, see if that makes a difference.
Is the tablet under warranty?
Are you based here in UK? If not then reach out to your local community for support and repair advice.

Thanks for the reply and your help. But as I wrote on my post I tried charging through a laptop already, with three different cables, it charged my phone but not the tablet. And it's only two months old, so the warranty is valid. Unfortunately I am not in UK, and as I originally posted my closest service is 70 km away, without the possibility of public transport, that is why I asked help in here as it's very difficult for me to reach the service.

So I am in a pickle.

The idea behind leaving your phone charging whilst connected to a PC, is because the charge rate is much lower. This might of helped with a fully discharged battery.
You really need to post to your local community. Unfortunately, we would only be able to give you service / repair advice based on the UK region.

Same problem. Not even year old tablet. Was gone for 3 weeks and now no charging light.

this is my 3rd tab that have the same issue. Samsung messed up and not letting customers know that updates causing charging problem. I haven't updated my tablet and forgot to charge, so my tablet totally dead, so it means garbage. All what they say about bad chargers, dust in charging port etc., this is all lie. There only one problem the software update what is wasn't done in time!!! I've been with Samsung for 20 years and now is time to reconsider another brand

My Tab9+ was restarted due to software update and will not start again.
It doesn't charge and pressing on/off + sound down has no effect.
I assume the device is lost for ever.

Why doesn't Samsung come up with a solution? Because there is no solution?

Good try. But I've already tried it. I considered slamming it on the floor.
Samsung has no solution for this problem.

My Tab9+ is already returned to company where I bought it. Still full guarantee.
